KRH Arts and Academics LLC is an art and academic coaching practice that focuses on creative art practice development, art practice as research, and academic coaching for individual and collective identities. It was founded to assist individuals and/or communities to accomplish their academic and artistic goals and to improve their performance individually and/or collectively.
The founder and A/r/tographer, Ms. Karin Rodney-Haapala, uses her experience as an artist, historian, educator, and researcher to support individuals and groups as they work towards realizing their potential and reach their goals through her company, KRH Arts + Academics. Karin holds a Master of Arts (M.A.T) in Teaching, Bachelors of Fine Arts (BFA) in Photography, Bachelors of Arts (BA) History/ Strategic Communications. She is committed to helping students and teaching students better study skills based on individual learning styles and strengthening executive function skills including organization, time management, pre-planning, and self advocacy.
Karin is also a lecturer on arts based research and academic subjects. Recently she spoke at the 2015 National Art Educators Association's Convention in New Orleans, LA. Furthermore, Karin speaks at schools and various venues nationally and internationally. She has appeared on Huffington Post Live and WYPR with Aaron Henkin radio show. Prior to opening KRH Arts + Academics, Karin worked as an teaching artists for many public programs in museum and community programs. Karin is currently a Professor at Montgomery College in Takoma Park, MD.
